Staff are very helpful but the food was dry and lacked any taste sorry but when your paying these prices the food is well below par and then there is the long wait for overcooked food AVOID
Last night i Had the braised venison pasta with smoked bacon that looked like it was steamed or raw. I think they also forgot to put parmagiano in my meal. The venison smelled of old meat and just not cooked long enough. Pasta was from the packet. When the dish came out I was like what the hell did I order. It tasted as bad as it looked. My husband ordered the lamb shanks, which was cooked well but lacked flavour. Very average dish, something you would cook better at home. Made me wonder if there was no chef that night and all the juniors were cooking maybe! Only thing good that came out was the fries for the kids. Service was good. Not eating there again.
Unless you lived locally or were staying at the accommodation, youd have to go out of your way to find this restaurant. I came here in April 2016 with some family friends and found it to be a fairly successful attempt at fine-dining in the motel context. Our group of six ordered a few things that night, including the seafood chowder which tasted better than it looked. I found the chowder a bit salty, but loved the seafood on the side.We also had the ciabatta starter where we had one slice each. While this was good overall, I made a note that I wasn’t a fan of the sour cream and chives dip.My duck breast with prawns was beautifully presented with vanilla foam. The meat was cooked well and I really enjoyed the flavours of the dish as a whole. Most of my dining party had the $36 steak, and I managed to sneak in a bite. Im not actually a big steak fan, but even I liked it. The portions looked small but once you get into it, it’s actually the right size.Service was professional but friendly and unpretentious, which matched the environment. While I wasnt blown away by the food, it was nice to discover a decent venue for Western dining away from my local stomping grounds.
Came for dinner with a work group and was amazed at the dynamic service. Being a vegan with a big group I didn’t want to make a big deal and the waiter was very friendly about it. Not only that but the chef was accommodating and all meals were delicious. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Impressed. Had dinner here with a few colleagues. had the scallops to start, another fish for main (some kiwi fish, cant recall name), and the choc moose for desert. the scallops were delicious, cooked perfectly, decent size, delicious pumpkin puree, very nice. the main was also good. the choc moose was very nice, however, i am not sure what the sorbet was doing in there, all very nice but seemed a little out of place.the roaring meg pinot noir is an absolute must if looking for a red. all in all, very impressive for a hotel restaurant.
Had dinner at restaurant last night. From the moment we walked in exceptional service. Very impressed by our wait staff who took orders by memory. Food and presentation of very high standard, with outstanding taste combinations. Have book another evening here. Would at some time in future like to stay at the hotel as well.
This Restaurant is part of the hotel. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much and ordered the 3 course special at $56.00. Calamari entree, Fillet main & cheese board to finish. From start to finish it was superb. Presentation and layout of the restaurant is good, speed of service was outstanding and although it was a reasonably busy night there were few delays if any and the food came out quickly, hot and beautifully presented. I was staying at the hotel otherwise would most likely not have eaten there but having done so once I will definitely take my wife back fora weekend just to eat at the restaurant. Keep up the outstanding work team.Oh. and the waiter who doesn’t need to write down the orders. I was impressed when he did it for me (on my own) but I also saw him take orders for a table of 6. Cool!!
