Must try for good cantonese food!Randomly decided to try this place last night. Restaurant was packed (on a Wednesday!) which made so excited to try the food. We only just managed to get the last table. Food was fresh, yum, and decently priced.
Big servings, friendly staff, quick service and reasonable pricing. Fairly decent Chinese restaurant overall! My son loved their sizzling steak with onion. Beef was so tender he could chew it without difficulty (though some of the pieces were still raw in the middle). We hope to come back on a day when there is no big group reservation (tonight the dining area was 90% occupied by a large clan having a reunion – so we were relegated to a spot closest to the toilet).
Had dinner at this newly opened restaurant today. We wanted to order deep fried chicken skin & prawn mince with cashew nuts. Unfortunately, this dish was not available as it needed to be ordered at least a day in advance. However, we were lucky tonight as the friendly waiting staff recommended another amazing dish to us, which actually required pre order too. This dish, Chinese herbal duck was available today as there was a customer who preordered 2 sets of this dish yesterday, and the chef happened to prepare 3 sets, so there was an extra set just right for us tonight. This Chinese herbal duck was amazingly very good, the duck meat was very well marinated with Chinese herbs, and the herbal sauce was very flavourful too. This dish is somehow not mentioned in their menu. Thus, if you would like to savour this dish, you would need to order it at least one day in advance. This is a whole duck portion, sufficient to be shared among 4 persons. We also ordered Yang Chow fried rice. It was not too bad, with very big portion and quite a generous number of prawns, considering the reasonable price of $15. A similar kind of Yang Chow fried rice with lesser amount of prawns at most of the food courts in Auckland would cost us about the same price too. They offered complimentary Chinese tea, crunchy fried peanuts, lovely pickles, and delightful peanut mochi (soft Japanese rice cake filled with fried peanuts) too.Although this restaurant looked small, it was very clean, neat, brightly lit and comfortable too. The waiting staff were friendly, patient and efficient. Another very commendable point is that the prices of their dishes were relatively very much reasonable as compared to other Chinese restaurants in Auckland.P/s: Tried loading my food photos numerous times but to no avail. Will try again later.Food & Beverage : 9/10Service : 8/10Price : 8/10Ambience : 7/10
