I only eat at Mumbai because it’s close to work. Otherwise, it’s not my first preference for Indian food. My Indian colleagues don’t eat here so Idk if that’s saying something.
Food was definitely delicious! Great portion size and very filling indeed. We had ordered butter chicken and lamb biryani that was served in a clay pot. We did wait quite some time for our order, not necessarily a downfall as I would rather the freshly cooked and made to order dishes than the reheated and old dishes.
Fine Indian restaurant at Westfield Manukau, prices are a bit higher here than other Indian restaurant but the ambiance is quite good. Taste wise it’s fine but I think I prefer other Indian restaurants for my favorite butter chicken. Though their Butter Naa is great.
Grabbed takeaway Butter Chicken and Lamb Curry with rotis. Tidy and clean restaurant, prompt service and staff was ok. Food is ok ,nothing special, the spiciness of the curry is good!
I guess the chef was in a bad mood. Biriyani lacked taste – no salt no spice. Tikka masala is bland no spice in spite of we saying it should be med-hot. A chef needs to keep all emotion aside and prepare consistent food. Hope the next time would be good if we divide to come back!
I love this place! When we are craving Indian food, this is one of our go-to places. We love the range of food on offer, the prices are reasonable and the service is always good. We especially love the fact that they are a family friendly place and are always welcoming towards us and our 2 year old toddler. We have tried most of the dishes on offer but we always order our favourite dishes- lamb or chicken sagwala and butter chicken or mango chicken with the sampler naan bread pack. We will keep going here because we always know what to expect with them
Food is ok.. but I would highly recommend the owner to change its name to something else.. it’s named as Mumbai Express but hostely it is just not Mumbai style. I live 20 years of my life in Mumbai and it is not even close to the food served in Mumbai restaurant, again the food is ok, staff reasonably good but just not like a restaurant from Mumbai.
