If you’re looking for a reasonably healthy bite and coffee in this neck of town, then this tidy joint situated next to the local library is a good bet. It gets busy at lunchtime with a whole range of customers while the cabinet selection offers choices for a quick light meal or snack on the go. Flat-whites have been reliably good on the occasions when I’ve had it here. One of their more substantial sandwiches is their Chicken Fougasse at $7 which you can stack up with crunchy calories by way of wedges for an extra $3. There’s cheesy pasta for a heartier choice, and chicken in filo pastry for a crisp alternative. Their made to order menu has a gourmet burger and country style mushroom on toast; as you might have sensed this is a mainly bread-based menu with focaccia offering moderate solace. I have stopped here twice now. The first time was because a friend had recommended it, and one thing that Manurewa is crying out for is a good cafe. We got a flat white and a chocolate shake. Both were great. we didn’t eat, but the selection of cabinet food looked really appetising. I went back again a few weeks later, and found that the good coffee wasn’t a fluke. It really was nice. Good stuff guys, keep it up!
