Went here a couple of months ago and the food and service had dropped big time. Went again today and I would agree that I won’t be returning. The reason for a 2 star is only because of the young lady serving us. I ordered a Hoegaarden 500ml and it came out flat. It’s as if the keg was off or possibly something wrong with the gas lines. I let the waitress serving us know and she took it back. She was let down by her manager who said that she tasted it and it was fine. Apparently to her Hoegaarden is a beer that is flat?? Really?? Order it all the time at the Belgian Beer cafe’s never has it been this flat! The lady serving us still managed to get a different drink and didn’t charge us for the Hoegaarden, but trying to justify a flat beer was ridiculous. The food was average. To top it off before we left, the beer was still sitting by the taps. It wasn’t thrown out. I would think that they are planning on selling a beer that’s been poured for well over an hour.
Love the mussels!! So many options to choose from. The service is very average though..some waiters aren’t very friendly to the customers. However I’ll always come back for the mussels
Had dinner here with family friends and ordered their Seafood Platter, Butchers Block, Fish & Chips and Ribs. Food tasted amazing (especially the lamb chops, oysters, smoked salmon, musselsjust wow); one of the best dinners Ive had in Auckland. Location helps as wellMission Bay is beautiful. Will be back, if I have the chance
Go to restaurant if Im around Mission Bay, and never had any issues apart from slow servicing at times. In my opinion they always have great service, food quality is good, portions are large , and have plenty of spacing indoors and rooftop.
An iconic restaurant located in mission bay. Great view, friendly service, food is quite average except for the mussel pots. The mussels pots are a must have. It also comes with yummy fries. If you dont know which sauce to go for, I would recommend the tasting platter. Oysters were quite small. Cured salmon was standard. Steak was cooked well but tasted very bland. They have a variety of beer, unfortunately Im not a beer person.Food: 5/10Food presentation: 6/10Service: 8/10Location: 10/10Ambience: 6/10Price: $40 per person (excl alcohol)
Monday half price Mussel. It’s delicious and cheap. Drinks of de fontein were pretty good, especially the black beer. Steak was over cooked, too dry. I forgot to take photos. But others were pretty good.
I had good time here today. I had cherry beer first. It was always good:) fish and chips was good but little bit oily for me. I would love to come here again.
