An all round pretty disappointing first visit here. Me and 3 other girls came here on a Tuesday night for $5 Taco Tuesday.Among us all we bought the 3 taco options that they had which was king prawns, fish & chicken which usually run for $8 each. The prawn was the best one because it was cooked really well but the fish was a little sad looking as it was really small and looked more like a glorified fish finger. The salads/sauce also really werent very much different from each other so it all just tasted like the same taco with a switch in the protein. I didnt have the chicken but my friend said it did resemble of a chicken wrap you could make at home. 3/5The other sides we got were hush puppies, lamb ribs, calamari & karaage chicken (I didnt try this so I cant speak about it but my friends did say it was good)The hush puppies were the best out of the bunch but thats not much of an achievement as the texture was really flour-y and dense. The saving grace on this dish was the crispy bacon bits that were an additional $4 add on. 3.5/5The lamb ribs were also okay, they were soft and came off the bone which was awesome but the meat wasnt marinated in the sauce it came with so it didnt really stick to the meat when you tried to scoop it up and the lamb tasted really gamey. 3/5Calamari was probably the most disappointing as they were chewy, not fresh, drenched in batter and half of the plate was in one big cluster. Its annoying as this is easily prevented if they had spent a little extra time putting each individual battered calamari into the deep fryer instead of putting a scoop of it straight in and therefore creating a cluster of batter and random calamari rings. Me and another friend shared this among us and not sure if we can put 100% full blame on this being the culprit but we both took work off because we felt really unwell the next morning…. 1/5 In all honesty, my friends had an alright experience here and maybe you will too.I think its just a pet peeve of mine of going to a place where they put 100% of their heart and loving into making the place beautiful and setting up the best vibes for wanting to spend your summer Sunday afternoons here but dont put in nearly as much heart and effort into their food. We ate through everything cos it was all edible, it just wasnt worth the $53 I spent on it. The prices are quite steep for the low quality of food you get, and I understand that the rent is high with the restaurant located right by the beach with great parking options but its all around, just disappointing. If I were to ever come back, it may just be for some $7 shoestring fries and a cocktail or 3.Decor: 5/5Food: 2/5Service: 3/5
This place looks really good. Love the ambience, perfect location-beachfront. Ordered the half flame grilled chicken, the flavour was yum but the breast part of the chicken was dry, and the serving size was a little disappointing for the price. Had fish and chips, it was good. Though, I found the chips a little salty. Also, ordered the karaage chicken, I reckon this is their best selling menu. I loved it, my husband agreed as well.
