I’m not a very big fan of dense cake but this place does it very nicely.Flavor combination with their icing/frosting is perfect!cake are also moist for a dense type of cake which is a bonus.
As I tried only one cake from there I hope it’s not normal to serve a coconut cake which in my opinion should be fluffy and creamy, but turned to be hard to cut and without any taste. The look from outside was nice but what was inside was a big disappointment for me and my guests. I would have done better cake by myself.
I purchased my 21st Birthday Cake two years ago – You only turn 21 once so I wanted it to be something special. There are sooo sooo many designs to choose from but I decided on the leopard print because it was a bit different and so detailed and beautiful. The lady who served us, offered us a complementary cake tasting and it was so difficult to choose what flavour I wanted because they were all amazing! My favourite is the passionfruit and white chocolate but I ended up going for the chocolate as It was the safe option. The day of the event, the cake arrived and I was blown away at how detailed it was. All of the leopard prints had been hand painted perfectly. Totally worth the money – my experience was awesome.
Located among mt eden cafes, we always wanted to try this place. We got the two eclaires. They were topped with chocolate and filled with chocolate as well, certainly a treat for chocolate lovers. They are slightly larger than the standard eclaires, the only let down was the pasty which wasnt as fluffy/crispy. But they had many other delicious looking treats! Will be back..
Unfortunately the macaroon lacked that slightly moist, chewy texture, once in your mouth and overall it was dry. However, the shell did have that nice subtle crunch, which was great. Although I didn’t have their cupcake, I was told it was delicious and moist!
Grabbed two small and lovely stuff for $ 3.50 each. Taste was good, because both two items contains enough moisture to bring me a good texture. Although, a small size dessert means less sugar and less carbon, but compare with other shops, I think the price was a little higher. Cashier staff was very friendly to me.
I came to City Cake Company with my friend for birthday treats. Between us, we shared the petit 4’s. We chose 2 salted caramel profiteroles, a cappuccino eclair and a lemon meringue tart. The treats were SO cute. They tasted just as good as they looked. I haven’t tried their cakes so I can’t really rate them on that but… 5 STARS FOR THEIR INCREDIBLE TINY DESSERTS. These yummy petit desserts are perfect for any occasion.
