Weve been to Candy Shop for coffee numerous time (as it is always on point) but we thought it was about time we sampled the menu as wed heard good things. We ordered the Soba Joba with Tempura Tofu and the Crispy Eggplant. The Soba Salad was light and refreshing but to be honest lacked a real wow factor, and the tempura tofu was flavourless and definitely not worth the extra $5 7/10. The crispy eggplant was perfectly cooked but not flavoursome enough, it really needed a good dipping sauce to go alongside. 7/10The only real redeeming factor of our meal was the soy iced matcha latte which was the perfect level of sweetness and intensity. 9/10 Also tried our friends Affogato which came with Duck Island Vanilla Icecream and was beyond delicious. 9/10My advice- go to Candy Shop for the coffee and drinks not the food, from what we tried its overpriced and not that flavourful.
Just look how pretty this plate of pancakes is! So colourful and vibrant, makes me wanna dig into it the second it arrived at the table. The pancakes have a complex flavour but its not as fluffy as I imagined. The KFC was crunchy and nice as well. These two are the most popular dishes at this place apparently, but I dont recommend having them as your first meal of the day. It got a bit too much after a few bites. It was a great experience overall but probably wont rush back.Food 7/10 Service 6/10 Ambience 9/10
Lovely cafe/restaurant hidden in New Market. A nice ranch style interior, with plants potted on the wall. Clean and green friendly environment. The rice cake and fried chicken was pretty tasty. The soba with tuna had a decent portion and was well flavored as well. The burger was a bit standard.Overall definitely worth a visit.Food: 7/10Food presentation: 7/10Service: 8/10Location: 7/10Ambience: 8/10Price $35 per person
