We decided to try this Roast shop when our usual one was closed. The beef was way too dry and not delicious. Portion size was good but probably won’t be going back.
Really disappointed, won’t be going back. Ordered a large roast pork and got about 100g of meat with the rest of the container filled with carrots and pumpkin. There was just one layer of meat on top of a bed of carrots – not worth $17.50.Service was friendly and the crackling was nice and crisp – that saved it from a 1!
Have eaten here before, so extremely disappointed when we had takeaway pork roast dinner tonight. Decided to order a large dinner and share it. Well, we got 7 potatoes, one kumera, and one piece of pumpkin, very disappointed. Asked for apple sauce, didn’t get it. Don’t think we will be going there again, shame!
I have ordered their lamb shank meal, large portion size however, the meal is microwaved!!(waited almost 10 minutes for them to MICROWAVE the shanks and mashed potatoes!!) I don’t expect to spend $20 for a microwaved meal. Also the pumpkin was not soft and the kumara was not fresh. Overall, very disappointed dinning experience, I have had their roasted pork meal before from the ex-owner and it was really enjoyable. Qualities of food and service gone downhill since the new owner took over.
Large portion sizes and pretty clean – but not as good as expected. It was a shame as this place came highly recommended for Roasts. We had the Pork and the Chicken and they didn’t give any crackling with the Pork and only gave us one portion of potatoes.Wouldn’t rush back again!
We have been to Roast Valley for the last 2 Sundays rather than standing over the stove on a Sunday cooking a roast for ourselves. The caf is tidy and clean with plenty of room to sit.We have the small potion each which is ample for us, a good size portion of veggies consisting of 1 potato halved, 1 wedge of Kumara 1 wedge of Pumpkin, peas carrots and Broccoli. All with gravy and sauce and meat of your choice (beef, pork, lamb, chicken, ham on the bone, or lamb shanks)The only disappointment would be the weighing of meat, I have heard of portion control but its meat theyre selling not bags of weedso no need for the scales. All in all its good value for money, tasty and convenient we will go again.
Cafe is clean, Staff are cheerful, the food is plentiful and tasty.CD
