If your looking for great customer care and civic service… then go somewhere else. Arrived, ordered $25 of food…and was busting for a pee… (everyone gets caught short once in a while). I asked to use the loo and was refused.. actually I was told that they didn’t have one (which was bullshit) and to go next door to the Wine bar… someone else’s business. after 15 mins, I was busting more and a bit annoyed so asked for the manager, who was still was very reluctant to let me use the loo, so I walked behind the counter, and found the nice loo… regardless of food good or bad… will never return and will advise everyone I know to go elsewhere. … there has to be consequences!
We ordered fish, chips and potato fritters. The chips were soggy and dripping with oil and grease. The whole paper gave way and when we went to open it; half of the meal became food for the birds. The fish was so greasy it fell apart and became soggy very quickly. The potato fritters were underdone and yet they were mostly batter.I’m upset with the quality of food here, especially for the price.We could not finish the meal.Get your act together.
Note to new owners: customers are going to notice that the battered snapper fillets have been cut into strips length ways. Better options up the road in Birkenhead village.
Good service. Don’t get the squid rings based on the review by someone else. Good Cajun fish burger. Rest of the stuff was average but let down completely by the old oil which left a really gross taste through it all. Rice Bran oil is not forgiving. Might pay to check when the oil was changed before you order it or just go to Crown Hill takeaways for the best on the Shore.
Spoilt for quality fresh fish and chips on this part of the shore. Nothing better than a moist fillet of Snapper and chips served with lemon on a boxed tray. We especially like to take these to the park up under the North end of the harbour bridge.
Fresh Snapper in light batter and chunky chips, with the fish cooked while you wait, not pre cooked.Even the burgers are fantastic and everything is reasonably priced.Awesome, very underrated place.Friendly and pleasant new owners.Well done.
Liked this place before and love it now it’s changed hands. The fish is really fresh and it’s cooked beautifully, as are the chips.
