Went here last week w/ friends and got a steak and cheese pie , mince and cheese pie and two ham rolls. The pastry had a weird texture like it wasnt flaky but kind of like a crust and was a little sweet ? The gravy in both pies had a hint of curry flavour which was okay but not ideal. I didnt get the ham rolls but apparently they didnt taste great
First time coming here was not disappointed. Knew it would be good as there was a line and it was busy. Everything is fresh, great flavours and well priced. Will visit again as there cinnamon rolls are 10/10 best Ive ever had!
What makes Auckland an awesome place to reside in, is the diverse food options available.BreadNButter provides a range of Filipino bakery goods for a taste of Manila without leaving the comforts of your Tamaki. Definitely not quaint or dainty, youll find that the breads to be rather substantial in appearance. I had the Giant Custard Cake, Filipino Calzone , Coconut bread and a Sprinkled Sugar on bread. Nothing to rave about in terms of taste, the Calzone was interesting having a nice full strong flavor. The coconut bread had real coconut in the middle and which was creamy and sweet. In terms of wanting something novel, BReadNButter is a fun experience and I would say that if youre travelling to the Philippines in the near future and wanted to have a taste of what your average locales would eat then head on over to BreadNButter for some Filipino treats. Showstopper: Giant Custard Cake was an interesting treat.Overall Grade: B
Friendly staff. Huge range of filipino sweet treats that you normally can’t find at normal bakeries. Place looks tidy. The Prices are decent
I use to work in Onehunga and would often go to this place for a sweet fix. They have a great selection of breads and sweet treats that they often display by the windows. My favourite things to get here is their coconut buns – it has real grated coconut inside the buns, and their cream buns.
This place went under new management a few years ago and is now managed by Filipinos. They do a mix of Filipino baked goods as well as the European bakery treats.Their cream donuts are my favourite and you can see them in the store front through the window. I also enjoyed their ube cake (purple yam) which is a Filipino favourite. You can order whole cakes and they also do made to order cakes.
We have only tried a couple of things from the bakery so far. My wife is Filipino so was very happy to have some food from ‘home’. The Pan de Sal was really good, good quality and reasonably priced. Also we had like a bread roll with cheese on and what my wife said was purple yam filling, but I forgot what it is called, that was also very nice and of good quality. The owners are very friendly and helpful too.
