I was looking forward to the food and got disappointed. $20 for a bacon bene that is as big as 3/4 of your hand served cold on a hot sunny day. I was probably paying for the location as the place is situated overlooking the tiny town of oneroa. As compared to other places on the same street for a better quality of food, this place is overpriced.
I like this place, but – I want to love it. It’s clear the team at solar work hard. The herb garden is well tended to, the food is cooked fresh daily and when you really probe for conversation with the team it flows. I wonder whether a good team building day would bring the service up to a more approachable standard. Food wise I’ve tried lots and it’s all ok. It satisfies but doesn’t stand out. My only dislike was the spherical hash brown. Didn’t strike me as being prepared the same day, was lumpy and cold in the middle.I worry that the competition accross the road might be winning rank with their delicious fare. What I want to see from solar is a kick up the herb garden. Get out there, get chatting to your customers and start to build regulars.And soup of the day. That should stay. Especially in winter.
