PROBABLY THE BEST SERVICE IN AUCKLAND.So we rock up with a table booked for dinner, theyre pretty busy, its a quaint lil gaff, theres clearly some musical chairs happening and we immediately go rigid and think Uh-Oh.What happened from that moment was better choreographed and more well rehearsed than an Olympic synchronised swimming team. Chairs landed around a generous table perfectly sized for our party. Cutlery was deliver polished, neatly and with crisp linen. Menus slipped in front of us, water sloshed into crystal glass and candles thrust between us mirroring the stars above – we instantly thawed. The menu was introduced by an eager young gent that Im disappointed I didnt get the name of to commend his efforts personally. His attitude and knowledge went far beyond his pay grade and he seamlessly read off the attributes of each dish by memory to suit what we had instructed him we wanted. Allured by his charming personality I took a risk and ordered his personal favourite- the Anglotolli. My usual order would be a nice fat rare steak but I chose, on this occasion to throw caution to the wind. We also as a group chose wisely to share the sprouts and potatoes. The restaurant was bursting at the seams and being very well experienced with dining out at popular eateries we slid comfortably into our seats and expected to wait the usual age for food to begin to land. The house wine was plopped into our glasses generously and we remarked on how the quality far outshone our expectations given the reasonable list price. Surprisingly, just a short 15 minutes later, two of the well dressed and carpal talented wait staff delivered our ten dishes with precision, each landing clockwise around the table and with crisp annunciation. What followed was wonderful. The Anglottoli melted in my mouth. My husband had hoovered up his steak before gasping for air and rose up from an empty plate declaring words that sounded like best steak and ever. The sprouts were divine, crisp and fried but still fresh and with a hint of citrus. The King Prawn Sambol was an artistic masterpiece with a absolute circus of flavour. The pork belly was feared to be too fatty and plans had been made to take some home yet the dish landed crispy and roasted to perfection. It met its match immediately and when the cheerful wait staff returned our plates were all but licked clean. The encore was as colourful as the matinee with house baked breads and cheeses that paired salty blue, hearty loaf and the sweetest homemade quince jelly. Our overseas guest chose not to say a word for the entire four minutes it took to finish her chocolate slab and my mother in law was (thankfully) kept quiet (a miracle) for an entire six whilst she stuffed her mouth with lemon torte. The Courtyard Waiheke has much to love. Support local, fresh food, location, views…what it isnt celebrated for is its ability to provide not just dinner out. But a complete dining experience worthy of stars cityside eateries can only dream of. If you havent yet parked your pork chops on a chair then take it from me – you are LONG overdue. This fabulous eatery is one of the best youll find anywhere in a city spoilt for choice.

The food here in this cute little hidden spot is adventurous and so mouth-wateringly, deliciously fantastic, you could fall off your chair with glee that there’s finally some serious cuisine available on Waiheke outside of the $$$$$ vineyards. After a dozen or so visits, the meals consistently surprise and exceed expectations.

Shockingly fantastic. A difficult to find off the main road, a culinary delite. Eat here before you die, or risk being sent straight to hell by the angry food god. 😉

The place looked interesting and quite hidden so we decided to give it a try. Very good service everyone seemed so nice and friendly. Food was average. We ordered tcy cheese burger and roasted duck. The roasted duck dish was very small and the bread was slightly burnt. The cheeseburger was too watery and a bit greasy but very tasty. We still had a good time overall.

Come for the food – not the views! Dinner was great, food was simple and faultless. Wine list is some of the most interesting wine on the island with appearances from overseas Austrian wine Guy Oggau making an appearance by the bottle for a competitive price! The steak was delicious, so soft and tender with the right amount of seasoning. The pasta was divine! Would recommend for dinner when the sun has gone and views can no longer be taken in (the only view youll get is of the Sothebys office..)
