Lovely lovely place! The staff are very friendly and will help as much as they can. Ordered fillet steak with shrimp for $38, it was sooo good! Definitely money worth! We had a beautiful seat on the deck with a gorgeous view of the scenic beach and water. Ordered a bottle of Pinot which was a bit pricey but the great value of the food made up for it. Was very busy and able to see the other dishes which looked equally yummy! The kitchen was run by two older looking couple, so thumbs up for the great meal! Desert was cheesecake, but tasted more like jello. Definitely recommend and will be back!
The reason I’m giving 2.5 is for the location and the food. The location is great with beautiful views. The food was also really good. Well, at least I think it was. After the 1.5 hour wait, anything would have tasted good! We had to watch tables come in, eat 2 courses, and leave numerous times before we were even served our food. After the 1st hour, our waitress apologised and said it wouldn’t be long, but that was not the case. And it’s not due to what we ordered as we seen many a table get the same dish we asked for.To make matters worse, when we went up to pay, after skipping dessert as there was no longer time, and brought it up to the cashier, he was just ‘yeah, long wait ey’. Not really good enough. Was very disappointing.
shared a calamari to start which was pleasant enough. my partner had the scotch fillet which he liked, cant really go wrong with steak mash and veg. i go the scallops from hell and was really looking forward to it but was horrible. scallops were cooked well but i didn’t understand the rest of the meal, it didn’t come with a lobster bisque as was on the menu, instead some disguising cream sauce that took over most of the plate, i had the exact same vegetables as the steak meal and then the past/rice in the center, it looked liked it was all just thrown together. the wine and view was nice, will not be returning, especially the amount paid for it.
What a beautiful little family run place. Right in the heart of oneroa this little restaurant has been run by the same wonderful couple and their daughter for the past 15 years. With views out to the ocean and fresh food to boot this place is perfect for a dinner date on the island.
I been many time is Restaurant very good view to Oneroa beach Rack of lamb very very good to recommend Service very fantastic Back again tomorrow night
A great venue however the lunch was disappointing. We were with a large party and we shared the platters. The spare ribs were huge and dominated the platter and the felafels were overcooked and almost tooth-breakingly inedible. Visually the platters were very unappetizing and for the price charged very ordinary.
We spent one night on the Island and decided on here for dinner. Price wise its near the top end. The 2 waitresses had only started a week ago so were a bit nervous and slower than you would expect, but they were very friendly with infectious laughs. We made sure to tell the owners how friendly they were. The food was good but the water had a strange taste and colour to it? They bought us bottled water but only had sparkling. We sat outside but as it was dark we couldnt see the ocean views but you could hear the waves hitting the shore. Great place to try if you visit the island.
