This review is for the meat pies. Generally all the pies are pretty good. They don’t skimp on ingredients. We went there a number of times and there’s always friendly service. Sometimes the owner even throws in a free pastry. Real nice guy.
THE best vegetarian pies I have ever tasted, delicious bread (especially the wholemeal) yummy cakes and goodies. Always super friendly. welcoming service and always great quality food.Very highly recommended
Food ordered:Roast Beef RollButter Chicken PieRoast Pork Meal (small)Bill: $21.50Big tummy: Having spent the past few months living in Orewa, I’ve come to know Kuna pretty well – I mean, considering they cover roasts, takeaways, breakfast and bakery food, they basically have you covered at any point of the day. This time I decided to introduce my girlfriend to the world of Kuna. I ordered a roast beef roll and a butter chicken pie. As always, the food was great. Everything is always cooked fresh and they seem to pride themselves on offering great tasting food (they’re also constantly coming up with new flavours of pies). They never skimp on the portions either… in fact, more often than not, they give me something free with my order. The service at Kuna is usually first-rate too with the owners being incredibly friendly. On a side note, we were out later that night and we were surprised to see that they were still open. Anyone who knows Orewa will know that it’s almost impossible to find anything open there at night, so that’s another tick for Kuna. Safe to say, I’ll happily keep returning to Kuna whenever I’m up north.Little tummy: We were floating around Orewa when we decided to stop somewhere for brunch. My boyfriend always raves about Kuna, so we decided to pay them a visit. They had a huuuge selection of food. I initially decided on a roast beef meal, but my boyfriend’s roll stole the last of the beef, so I had to settle for the roast pork. Their roast meal was delicious and very generously portioned. I couldn’t quite finish the whole meal, even though I ordered the small size. I tried a bit of my boyfriend’s pie as well, but to be honest, it didn’t really float my boat. I’d be happy to be dragged back to Kuna again though.
My review is for the bakery part of it, havent tried the takeaways, but the pies and the bakery food is awesome.Sometimes travel from Mt Roskill to Orewa just for the pie for lunch. The chicken camberbert and cranberry is my favourite, but today tried the new Pork Pie and very nice 🙂
