Ice chocolate costs $7.50 – taste like plain milk and there was a big chunk of cream and ice inside. Had a steak and cheese pie also $5.50 – pastry was hard and the steak was mainly fat. Would NOT recommend!
Called in here on a recommendation from Mary Clare Bartlett on Friday 26 Jan 2018, we were meant to meet for a coffee but MC was called away. So was a sinking hot day so no coffee but had lunch here & had one of there ‘Happy Smoke Fish Pie Day’ specials. Yummy yummy yummy. Staff were very pleasant & has outdoor seating & clean facilities.

Local Waiheke people love the Car Park Cafe. We don’t want visitors reviewing our best cafe. We love the staff and if you really need wifi we suggest you stay at home.
The Car Park has a real kiwi feel with the wall art and rustic wooden tables and oversized design. The staff are friendly and fast. I ordered their in-store made sausage roll and iced mocha. The sausage roll was tasty. With a big meaty roll with chunks of carrot and onion an golden flaky pastry. It was moist but too salty, even when I dunked it in tomato sauce. The iced mocha was more like a watered down version from what I’m used to. The mocha was strong but had no creamy taste. I was expecting more since a cup was a hefty $7.50. The quality of the drinks let them down for me, as they’re overpriced for what is offered. And oddly enough when I asked for the WiFi they said that its only available for the upstairs customers, I have no clue what that means. Their food is good, but the drinks and service was lacking for me. Next time takeaway would seem like the best option.
As visitors to the island we went to the Ostend Market and spoke to some locals and they recommended this caf opposite Countdown supermarket.Always trust the locals, they have the knowledge! Great food, excellent service. They have a fantastic selection of fresh food in the display cabinet as well as a tasty blackboard menu with lunch specials. The pies, deli rolls and soup was very well received and the steak sandwich is very nice! The staff were warm and friendly and the service was quick and the place was clean with modern dcor.
