Not much here. Portion size is pretty crap. Use to go to the takeaways that was opposite this one but thats closed down now. Only go here if i have no choice other then that it wouldnt be my first option. Food is average fish and chips
This is a half full or half empty type of takeaway place. If you have had a skinful, sorry about the pun, then AJs is appealing. You can have 3 burgers, chips and 25 potato fritters for about $5. That makes it a 5 however if you haven’t had any alcohol it falls to a 2.5.
A handy local fish & chip takeaway near to Mt Albert / Owairaka / Mt Roskill – quick service, fair price and perfectly cooked fresh fish every time.
So good!! Good value for money. I recommend the combo I: 2 x Fish and one lot of chips for $6.20 🙂 I prefer it with thin batter and well cooked. Also the mussels and milkshakes are favourite too!
I have been to MANY F’n’C shops in Auckland covering West/East/Central and South side and in my humble opinion, THIS IS the BEST Fish and Chips shop EVER to bless the face of the earth (until I find another of course). Their basic, standard fish on the menu is the Trevally, this cut of fish is very THICK and juicy (Im serious when I say juicy) and the oil on the fish is almost minimal to none which is very smart because when you bite into it, the oil doesnt take away the taste of the freshly cooked fish. I cannot stress enough how FRESH the fish is here. The elderly couple who run the store are so kind and take so much care to prepare your food, its comforting to know that places like these still exist. You KNOW a F’n’C shop is good when your paper package of food is NOT drenched in oil. If ever you’re passing through Mt Albert please try their fish as well as their various items on the menu with your family and friends, you will not regret it.
I really like this shop, the prices are great and its a super easy and cheap option when feeding the offspring a ‘treat’ dinner. It is also very handy at a five minute walk away.
Great fish and chips.
