A small sushi bar that serves a fresh and tasty range of sushi options. A shame it is not a bit bigger as occasionally there is no spare room for eating in. Very friendly service, complimentary Miso when dining in.
best place to get sushi, my favourite place to go and the best service – loveliest people. affordable, so good and just everything is amazing! visiting makes my day. highly recommend to everyone!!!
Hands down best sushi place EVER!! They have the most exceptional service and tastiest sushi. They even make more on demand if your favourite isn’t in the cabinet. Their chicken katsu and chilli chicken dishes are beautiful affordable and so good I recommend them to everyone I know! They also offer free miso soup with every purchase. I could go on and on about how wonderful this tiny hidden gem is but I recommend you try it for yourself!!!
Very friendly staff, great service and most of all, great food with really good prices!!! I can feel that they cook every single food with real effort to meet standards. Has become my fav local sushi place!
My favourite local sushi place, even after the change of staff the food is still delicious and the staff are still extremely lovely and courteous. Cant even recommend a dish to try as I find them all delicious!
Donburi !! This is the best reason to drop by here for lunch. Chicken Donburi to be precise , at only $8. Soft succulent cuts of delicious teriyaki-glazed chicken arranged over a pillowy layer of omelette neatly blanketing the underlying plump rice – it is a spiffy presentation, casually emblematic of how tidy and eminently tasty so many Japanese dishes can be. You also get a free cup of hot miso with any order – I know of no other restaurant Japanese or otherwise in Auckland which gives free drinks. This joint is petitely tucked away off a street just off Papakura’s hub, and at lunchtime it gets a steady flow of multi-ethnic patrons looking for moreish bites. A lady recently informed her companion when they were at the counter that the salmon donburi was the top choice here! Also competing for your attention is a sushi cabinet that has a range of good quality offerings , including the addictive Takoyaki which are steamed octopus balls drizzled over with wicked sauces. Decor here is also something which is above average – very simple with lots of blonde wood and some props but disclosing a consistently petite aesthetic. Tables are limited but it adds to the coziness. Your food is handed to you on a tray with the cup of free miso and your own japanese-made bottle of soy sauce. They have a range of meaty teriyaki selections served with rice and the noodle-based ‘Yakisoba’ all of which are good value for money. This joint is undoubtedly a keeper for work lunches in the area! upnworld.com
After reading the positive reviews I gave this place a go and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Chilli Chicken and Ramen to takeaway and it was all delicious. The excellent customer service also added to my pleasent experience at Little Tokyo Sushi. I will be returning to try the rest of menu.
