Love the flavour in the food however $18 per meal is a bit expensive. Especially when you get less than what you would in an average $12 meal at other Asian restaurants 🙂
YUM CHA EXPERIENCE ONLYDecor in this place needs to updated and the toilets need to a whole revamp and quick! I use to come here often a while ago and recently went back to find that the quality of the food had changed ( went worse) and the price went up. I took my family here at 10.30, it was quiet and peaceful which set a good mood for us, the food come out quickly and was hot. I do feel a bit awkward though because of the communication barrier between myself and the staff, they did refill my tea all the time and clear the table when dishes were done but reaching over and around us while we are eating is a no!no! for me, it would have been nice for them to ask for the plates or wait until we move the empty dishes to the side which is what we normally do.
Always came here but we decided to go somewhere else. When we finally came back to the restaurant to give it another go, it was very disappointing. The food took a long time to come and it was the same food choices. Took ages to the point where we were going to get up and leave
This place is very familiar for me because its a go to place for my family to order from. The interior hasnt been updated and Ive eaten at this restaurant for 10 years now, but I guess thats just part of their trademark look now. The yum cha itself is okay but its not the best. Ive tasted better. The food sometimes tastes old or microwaved and if you eat at a better yum cha restaurant you notice the difference in taste and quality. Shumai is a classic at any yum cha restaurant but Crown Restaurants one is really tough so I refrain from ordering it and is not my favourite at this place. However, I recommend the rice noodle roll, tripe, chitterlings and chicken feet which is nicely seasoned. The staff have limited English but theyre friendly. It can get really busy during lunch hours but its better than their rival restaurant (cough cough).
Not bad, some food we ordered are good, but the environment is not so nice. The price is acceptable. The pig bun is cute, the kids like it and feel excited.
One of my favourite places to eat in Auckland. Great food 16 years after I first started going there.Great value for a big group or one or two diners.Love this place.
The dim sum was alright (Takapuna better) , beans were tasty however I was disappointed with their service and 3 layered pork (wasnt crispy and was microwaved to make it hot )
