This Japanese restaurant has been around for over 10 years, locates in Parnell, well known for its traditional Japanese cuisine.They offer a good variety of dishes. Food are reasonably priced.Their beef tataki are exceptional, thinly sliced and well seasoned. The sukiyaki pot have a flavorful soup base and the beef are fresh and tender. The Gion special sashimi platter contains a great variety of different raw fish, fresh and excellent valued.Staff are super friendly and attentive. Highly recommended to everyone.Food: 10/10Food presentation: 7/10Service: 9/10Location: 9/10Ambience: 8/10Price $50 per person excl alcohol
Gion is one of the most authentic and original Japanese restaurants you must visit, centrally located in Parnell. The restaurant is often busy, however you will most likely be able to get a table without a reservation as well. They offer Japanese cuisine, made with cafe and beautifully presented. I love their sashimi selections and sushi and highly recommend their hot pots too. The service is always wonderful and attentive, the waitresses will offer to fill water at regular intervals and top up tea. 5/5
Came in for dinner tonight with the family. Food was amazing. The wagyu steak melted inside my mouth. There was no need to chew. Chazuke has both crispy and soft salmon. Salad was delicious, loved the sauce. Beef was so soft and easy to chew. Steamed egg had a mushroom and shrimp which gave it some nice flavour. Ice cream was extremely rich. Overall, excellent meal.
