They do the best HSP (Meat on chips) in all of Auckland because their portion sizes are absolutely massive for the price ($14) and the service is extremely quick, the meat is tender and fresh and the chips are perfectly seasoned. If you’re looking for a proper sized meat on chips then this place has to be your go to.
Very tasty kebabs. Put’s pita pit to shame . Highly recommend this place.now i’m just filling my 140 character quota …weird………………………………………………………..
You will not find such tasty kebab in $5 in whole Parnell and in CBD as well. I live in city but I visit Parnell often, and I am a alway-hungry kid. And I might have had kebab in every kebab outlet which came across me. But this taste in just $5, is not easy to find. Honestly, I went there just because I saw the board which says *kebab for $5*, and after eating their kebab, I left their shop. And after taking a 2 mins walk towards my home I realised that my stomach needs one of those again so I went back and ordered another kebab. In my head it was sort of embarrassing, when the person who was on the other side of the counter asked me if it’s a takeaway this time, but I kept my shamelessly smiling and hungry face towards him and ate the whole kebab right in front of him. (His question was reasonably valid though) 😀
My local Kebab joint, Parnell Kebabs is definitely a little odd amongst Parnell’s high-end eateries.Nevertheless it’s convenient and cheap for patrons who are after a quick bite at absurd hours. I had an egg burger combo for $10. It was nothing out of the ordinarily but was palatable and definitely filling. The fries were a little cold though which was a little disturbing.Showstopper: Open till quite late and provides decent portion sizes.Overall Grade: B-
I’ve tried Parnell Kebab regularly and enjoy their $5 fish and chip deal. They get it right more often than not but today when I ordered the worst salad ever drowning in sauce. I asked for no onions or tomato on my salad – when I got to work, onions and tomato clearly visible! Disappointed yet again!
The plus point of this place is that its open late. After a hard day of working late, it’s always a blessing to have something open to grab a quick bite. However, having said that, it is pretty much the only good thing about this place. They do the standard burger, fries and rolls. But it’s always either too oily or too saucy or the meat is too tough. It’s cheap and open till 10pm I think, so if it checks those two boxes for you, I’d say give this place a go. But don’t go with high expectations.
Nice/friendly service and good food. Would recommend trying the chicken sheish or the chicken souvlaki on rice if you’re a big fan of spicy food
