We live in Parnell and are always looking for new food experiences, here is fantastic. Scallop starter was lovely with the added theatre of the waiter flamb at the table. We had the Turbot for main which would not be out of place in a Michelin restaraunt.Authentic beautifully cooked French food with flavour top of the list. Great service and wine choices.Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back!!
It’s the second time we booked a table at Le Bistro des Gourmets and it has consistently been an excellent address. The French cuisine is absolutely authentic (rare in Auckland, I can testify being French myself) with typical / classical and very well executed French dishes. The Chef knows how to please the palate and never disappoint in delivering delicious dishes while the likeable Sommelier will surprise you by suggesting perfectly matching wines, some of them very different from the traditional grape variety usually found in NZ.The service is quick and excellent, obviously everyone knows its job and does it very well.A highly recommended address and most probably the best French restaurant in town !
We tried this place for lunch. It is located on the second floor in what use to be a Japanese restaurant which may explain the plates! We had the terrine (nice texture and flavour) and duck gizzard and livers salad (tasty but nothing special). We had the fish (okay), skirt steak (okay) and kidney (okay)We finished with the calvados flamb apples. The wine list cover most of the bases but is not that extensive.Basically it was okay but I dont think we will be back.
