We came here for dinner recently. It was a big restaurant and has a very pleasant enviroment. The service was good and friendly. As for the dishes they tasted good and serving was reasonable for the price. We will definitely be going back for their other specials in the menu.
Lovely 3-course dinner in a scenic setting. Unusual scenery of the working container Wharf, the police helicopter and boat and the rescue helicopter. Enjoy the busy activity and watched a cruise ship leave. All in all great location, excellent service and good quality food. What more can you ask for? Thumbs up!
We had been here a few times. Last nights visit was just a random stop awaiting for the after office hours traffic to ease. We ordered two pasta dishes and chips to share. Pretty unusual order at a supposedly fine dining restaurant but we wont there to celebrate an event. We were early for a 5.30pm dinner (thats the opening time). We were told to wait at the bar while the staff had their usual opening briefing. Probably got seated at 6pm and the usual greetings, usual question on are you celebrating an event?, introduction to their menu etc. Pretty good effort really, a standard they kept over the years. I love the freshness of the marinara spaghetti with lots of seafood. It was disappointing to be told the restaurant had no meatballs for the fettuccine so that was substituted with chicken. Could have given a four star rating but I just failed to see why customer should be kept waiting while the staff meeting was held. A good thing we wont rush for time. If you are thinking of celebrating an event, this restaurant is highly recommended. Ambience is nice and relaxed.PS We ordered the chips as a side but it came out in such big helping and got wasted. I think the charges was $9.50 which was more than the charge for a side. They were yummy though. littleborneogirl.wordpress.com
Was excited to try tonight for the first time. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. The ambiance was nice however there was an extremely loud party in the bar area. There were even frequent screams heard. As there was no division between the bar and the dining area the sound just bounced all over the place and really made the experience unpleasant. I could not hear my partner speak to me and we had to yell over the noise. It was far from an intimate dining experience that one would expect and was more of a pub with table cloths vibe. The service was ok- it was not terrible, yet it was not outstanding. We didnt get asked if we wanted desert. When the waitress told us the days specials we could barely hear her over the noise. Our waters were not refilled. The sauted shrimp starter was nice. The sauted fish with lemon sauce and pumpkin risotto was nice. The beef burgundy was a real disappointment and was not much better than a Sunday roast you would expect from a pub. Also I am unsure where the goat cheese was on the dish. Although the portion was nice and the beef was cooked well. It had no flavour. You could not taste hints of wine and there was barely any jus on the plate. The plate was awkwardly topped with a hand full of unseasoned/ undressed greens.
Friendly staff Good food (worth the money) Amazing view Great ambience Only downside would be when upstairs is reserved for private functions the noise can disturb you downstairs (only when the crowd is being loud mind you)
