Over priced. I got the seafood dish for $32 which didnt have scallops even though it was listed. It was a bowl of veggies and bland tasting seafood drenched in a pool of sauce. Not a good presentation. Small portion. This was our second visit to this restaurant- the first time we were left waiting for approx 15 minutes before we were asked for our orders when the restaurant was not busy. Wont be returning.
Absolutely lovely! The food was amazing! The service, even more so! Definitely will be back to enjoy their delicious food!!!!! 1000000000000/10 for sure!!!!
The Java room is one of our favorite restaurants. Located at the back of the historic Parnell village, a nice tucked away location, with either indoor or veranda dining. The Veranda has views over the Auckland domain. The service is always friendly and personal. And the dishes are well thought out and very very well executed. Favourite dishes are South Indian snapper and chilli prawn. The Gado Gado is always tempting. (Side note: It would be nice if it was offered as a side dish).Looking forward to our next visit.
Very fancy menu but the food lacks depth and flavour.Too expensive for what the food turned out to be. Three dishes for $65 approx. not worth it
Great customer service, friendly owners and good food. The chef came out to see us and offered COMP deserte to the mothers on the table as it is Mother’s Day.
Average at best. I order the dragon eyed pork, which essentially meant very small pieces of deep fried pork covered lathered with sweet chili sauce and hidden under a forest of salad.Everyone of a 10 seat table got their orders and mine had essentially been forgotten. Waited 45 minutes, asked the waitress what happened, and what I got was an apology for forgetting my order. 1 hour in total to get my food, 10 minutes to eat it due to my hunger and relatively small portions. Not worth it.
Visited the Java room on Saturday night for a friends birthday. We were seated in the outdoor area which was perfect for big groups. It was a little chilly but thankfully they had some really cosy blankets nearby to keep us warm. The restaurant is well presented with modern dcor and is clean and tidy. We had a selection of dishes as part of the set menu to share between us which worked out well. My favourite dishes for the night were the Far east chicken, vegetarian Green curry and the Cripsy Siamese snapper. The food was well portioned and all quite tasty. The staff were kind enough to bring out a piece of cake with candles for the birthday boy. The service is efficient and the staff are really friendly. Thanks for having us!!
