  The Pork Belly is the tastiest thing you’ve had in your mouth since that Tinder date you had last week.The rest of Mekong Baby is made up of the usual South East Asian balancing act of sweet, sour, spicy and generous helping of umami.These guys are consistent, they do it well. An Auckland institution that deserves whatever accolades it gets. Going into the details of each dish is pointless, they’re all punchy little numbers that have you wanting more and leaving you with a new found reluctance to share.For the fellas, 10 points if you can find the bathroom without asking a staff member.

  Recommeded by a collegue who visited. Spacious venue with street side seating as well as indoor seating. The lamb ribs are a must try super tender but coated in a very crispy coating which i think is a good texture combination. The herb relish it came with could be finished off with a spoon its so good. The main was the madurese goat curry. while not much to look at the base curry is packed with flavour and the goat also very tender. They only give you a spoon and thats all you need. Beer and wine selection pretty decent

  First time at Mekong Baby last night and was very impressed with their food. The pork belly was a highlight and would highly recommend. Between 4 of us we ordered – two small plates and three large with rice. The portions are generous and we were all well feed. Unfortunately what lacked was the service. The service was shocking. The waiter was not attentive. Literally waving our hands around to order a bottle of wine. The waiter didnt explain there was two portions of rice in one bowl. We had two instances where two different waiters came to ask us to clear our plates when there was still food left. I think simply a bit of training will transform this review to a 5 because I highly enjoyed the food.

  One of my faves. Never fails to satisfy. Get the madras chicken curry, be prepared for the chili to blow your face up but its delicious! The cocktail menu is also amazing.

  This is my favourite place to eat in Auckland. Everything about it is just PERFECT. The cocktails are incredible, and the wine list is interesting, keeping even visiting wine connoisseurs on their toes! My recommendation is to come into Mekong for the banquet menu, and just let the guys and gals in the kitchen feed you. Theres so much food that at some points you think you could quite happily stop eating, but the dishes just get better and better! I no longer eat meat, but have considered taking a break for a night just to have the pork belly again. It is unbelievable. Look out for the fish curry and the beef skirt noodles too, yum yum. If you havent been, highly advise you to get in on this restaurants action!

  Couldnt decide what to eat so went with the banquet where the chefs pick for you so many delicious things we would never have tried, and an insane amount of food for two people. All curries are a huge highlight. Great cocktail menu as well. Definite 11/10

  Love Mekong baby! Had the lets eat option and it didnt disappoint! Please make sure you are extremely starving if getting the lets eat option as they give you a selection of around 6-7 dishes. I cant even remember how many dishes there were but it was a lot. Portions are also very generous
