The coffee is consistently really good and the scones are on another level! Staff are always friendly and make visiting an absolute joy! Really nice local cafe with a real community focus.

The food here is always good, especially the soups and chowders as we get into winter. It has a lovely community atmosphere, with eclectic furniture sourced from the community and hosting of community groups. A lot of the ingredients are sourced from the community garden, so the menu changes seasonally. Staff are always really friendly and lots of seating inside and outside.

If you’re on the way to the Waitakere Ranges or Bethells Beach, then have breakfast or lunch in Ranui at Cafe Korero just off main road before Swanson . We had late lunch on Sunday here and we had the Buckwheat Pancakes with soya milk chai lattes..The locals come here so we thought it was a great place too..Heaps of free parking out front and big tables inside . Tidy Cafe with an emphasis on money made going back into the community. Friendly staff and organic food so something for everyone to enjoy. Loved the caramel slices for desserts which we took home as Pancakes were big and delicious. Read magazines and felt relaxed after our meals ..Children friendly too and lots of space inside and out for lots of friends..

My favourite local cafe. Just 5 mins drive down the road. Have been here several times and is my favourite place to go out for breakfast. Always get the bacon and eggs with extra chutney. Tastes and looks like a breakfast that you would get a B & B. You are looking at about $35 for two breakfast mains and drinks. Atmosphere is good, the place has been decked out with recycled and reclaimed chairs and timber. Has outdoor eating in the front and the back.

What a horrible experience ! Just came for a take away coffee and waited 20 minutes only for them to forget that I had ordered take away and waited another 20 minutes for my coffee. What a joke. Also my coffee was awful! Burnt the milk. Not impressed.

A clean, friendly, quiet cafe where you can hold a conversation–there’s some road noise (Swanson road is busy) and some kitchen noise, of course, but they aren’t big on the music so this is a pleasant place to lunch with friends and not have to raise your voice. The Korero Breakfast is less generous than the equivalent dish at some other cafes, but it’s still more than I can manage! I gather the components vary a little from time to time. Today it was thick toast, eggs, kumara rosti, mushrooms (oh, wow, the mushrooms!), bacon, sausage, grilled tomato, butter, and a slightly spicy tomato sauce/chutney. Very satisfying.Wheelchair access is reasonable, parking plentiful. And for those who care, there are three Pokestops in range from the covered outdoor seating area. Not my local, but better than my local.

A small but neat little cafe at Ranui area. Discovered it while passing the area and really needed some coffee & lunch! It’s located opposite to the Ranui library and the owner informed that it has been a community based cafe for years but only recently been refurbished and relaunched after the council upgraded the community building. I found the environment inviting, the take away goodies are quite creative (e.g. not the usual standard muffin flavours). I especially enjoy the fact that it’s using local organic produces & catering special dietary requirement upon request. I can’t wait to take my family to visit it during the weekend to enjoy their beautiful kai. Their Facebook page has nice photos to showcase all the yummy dishes they have to offer! (Vegan options offered 🙂
