Great staff. The food was good for bar food. However shoestring chips for $7, bit pricey for size of the serve. Would love to see thick cut chips. House wine choice could be better. Really Kopiko as your house wine, not good (reminds me of the cask wine back in the 90s). Stoneleigh would be great. Good choices of red wine. Love the expensive liquid soap in the bathroom.
Unfortunately this should not be considered a restaurant as it is more of a bar culture. However bar food is usually better. Calamari was tough and everything else was below average. Only reason I didnt score lower was the staff and their good service.
Great wine selection. Friendly professional service but really let down by meals. Under cooked pork belly served under soggy coleslaw. Totally inedible. Pulled pork taco yummy but beef taco filled with fatty meat chunks. Evening just got worse as the beer jugs started flowing at adjacent table. Would make a great student bar.
Lovely team of staff!! Happy to look after us and have quickly gotten to know us as ‘locals’ which is a great feeling when walking through the door! Reasonably priced alcohol, awesome cocktail list and some even better bar snacks!!! Love the Corner!!
We dropped in for an unplanned meal mid-week. The three of us quickly felt at home and were delighted with the recent change to the menu. The fish is to be recommended. It was beautifully complimented with a fennel salad. A particularly pleasant suprise was the Emmersons Pilsner. Very good service, well presented tables and a comfortable decor.
The Corner it is fairly new, taking over a pub and now the food now is definitely a step up. Decent selection of food and priced as a mid range restaurant ($15 entree and $25-$40 mains). The food was nice both in flavour and in presentation.Service was nice and friendly.
Dined here with 6 friends last night having just been at a function down the road, so it was nice and close. Very friendly staff and accommodated our last minute additional guest with no problem. Food was pretty good, the chicken schnitzel that I had was very generous, moist and the potato & caper salad and fennel that it came with was very tasty.Wine list pretty good and we found a chardonnay at a reasonable price – although overall the place is fairly pricey for a local, so don’t expect a cheap meal. My main ‘beef’ would be the price of theside dishes – $7 for a small bowl of fries, and my friend ordered the $12 side of tomatoes which probably had about a dozen cherry tomatoes in it. I’d come back because of the friendly staff and generous mains, but probably won’t be ordering too many of their side dishes again………….
