This lovely place is never empty and it seems to have a loyal following of appreciative regulars. An impressive selection of things to eat. You can even select something to take home for your dinner. High standard of food safety.
Having been hanging out a lot on this street in Remuera area. The Deli is a spot for friends and family’s catching up.Homey, Cozy, full of breakfast and lunch options. You can find from regular scones, slices, pie to meat loaf, Turkish bread, beetroot salad, fish cake etc. of course there is a menu to add your hot dish desire.Sitting by the French door outside, you will find running people pop in for takeaway coffee, new tourists coming sitting down for a relaxed coffee. or people living in the neighbourhood bringing their family for lunch treat. That’s always vivid scenery for a Cafe recognised by its local people.Next time swing by for a flat white and carrot cake. You won’t be let down. Just stay open minded and try!
I have lived in Remuera for neally 9 years and over that time I have often frequented this cafe. The food has always been delicious ESP the full breakfast and any of the tasty dishes on offer in the cabinet down the back, particularly the meatloaf. The coffee is always on point and the service is always prompt, efficient and friendly. There are so many choices available in the area which are also of a good standard but everytime I come to The Deli it’s always reliable on taste, service and reliability! Worth paying the extra $$ for.
The Deli is a homely local cafe that my boyfriend and I frequently go to. The first time we went, I was very impressed by the quality of the food, the friendly and expedient service, delicious hot chocolate, environment and aromatic smells luring you in for a second visit.I have since been with friends and family who visit from Melbourne and they loved it too.Simple. Homely. Friendly. Efficient. We keep going back, it is just what you need for a weekend brunch location.
Great food at a reasonable price. Never too busy to get a table and staff are always friendly. Definately my go-to place for brunch on the weekends.
Went to play against one of the local rugby teams here during the regular season last year. But before going to the game, thought I might stop here to get something to drink since it was still morning. What better to start with some Hot Chocolate. It wasn’t as busy in the morning considering that it was a Saturday, but the service was just the ordinary greeting and what I wanted. It’s a large entrance, rather than those ordinary small doors where you have to either push or pull to get in. Just seems like those really busy cafes you see in the city, but there was hardly anyone since it was still early on the Saturday morning.
Last time I dined at this establishment was it first opened. Wanted to try it again as my impression from those days was great. Where to start? As I don’t really want breakfast, decided to order moccachino, fish cake with kale, poached egg and tartare sauce.Service. All the servers are friendly, polite, attentive. Quick to respond. The only minor deduction of point would be the coffee came well after the food arrived. 4.5/5Food and drinks. Very disappointing. The fish cake. All I can taste is potato. Can’t taste the fish at all. Maybe they cut the fish into very fine pieces. I don’t know. Moccachino tastes more like cappuccino.
