Revolting!!, got home and opened package to find fish all broken up, batter falling off fish. Looks like new people running this place and they don’t have a clue about food. Specifically asked for the fish to be packed separately to chips and this wasn’t done. When I mentioned this the chap then opened the pack and was happy to separate fish from chips?? Really how was he going to do this with pieces of fish between chips? Told him not to bother he then closed it all up and this is how it looked when I opened the pack at home and placed a few pieces of fish on plate. This by the way is 4 pieces of fish. Disappointing because this place used to serve great fish and chips!
Honest good burgers made with love I stop by whenever I go supermarket just around corner after work. Very well made burgers and their chips is crispy and just how it should be. Angus mcvie and their snapper burger are my recommendation. Make sure you order over the phone because they take time to make burger and inside of shop gets a lot of wind so it is really icy cold and they don’t use heatpump or heater.
Tryd this place for the first time last night, have to say after living in riverhead for just over a year I’m so happy to find a great takeaway place. Have tried every place in kumeu and none of them quite cut it. Will definitely be going back to Matti B’s.

This is our friendly local. The quality has been consistently high since it started. The food is always fresh and clean tasting. Having one of the very best fish and chip establishments so close is wonderful. You won’t get any rubbish here.The chips are on a par with the real deal i.e. Belgian ones, the crumbed fish, superb.
We always get our takeaways from Matti Bs. If you do a phone order with Paul, the owner, you will always get off the phone with a smile on your face. I love their hamburgers, soooo juicy. Their crumbed fish is great to. The chips are really nice, not dripping in oil. Would definately recommend Matti Bs.
Four stars for the food and a bonus star for always being pleased to see me. Really great takeaway food, fish that is fresh and cooked well….but, like I said, making customers feel welcome and appreciated…..well I’ve eaten at a restaurant with a Michelin Star that couldn’t manage that…..
