I stopped here for lunch on the way back to Auckland. I had the vegetarian pie, spinach, sundried tomatoes, mushroom and cheese pie. The filling was sizzling hot just like a pie should be, it’s super cheesy as you can see from the photo. Pastry was crumbly and crispy. It was a delicious pie. It is lacking a little substance for my taste, something starchy like potatoes or some legumes like lentils would have made this a 5 for me, but nonetheless I would go back for this vegetarian pie.
All I’m going to say is do yourself a huge favour and try the chicken spinach and feta pie, they aren’t award winning for nothing! It’s worth the price I promise you. Never disappointed and staff are lovely, good luck getting there in time before they are all sold out though, this place is always busy for a reason, best bakery I’ve been to

Great variety of pies and they all looked fresh and not dry. Had the butter chicken – delicious! Tender pieces of chicken breast and great gravy. Also bought a lamington – have been on the hunt for a good one since we sold our bakery and Savan’s is fresh and soft and tasty!
