I love this place. Very friendly and welcoming. Really nice vibe. Excellent selection of local craft beers, both on tap and by the bottle. My personal favourite is the Bumaye by 8-Wired. Full bar with spirits, wine etc. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. They do really nice hot chips, which is always a great way to sober up if you’ve had a few too many. Friday nights tend to be the busiest.
The best thing about this place is the friendly country pub atmosphere. They have beautiful homemade beer pumps full of amazing craft beers. When you walk in you’re asked all the right questions to get the beer best suited to your taste, which made you feel valued as a customer…. We had chilli con carne and soup… I’m a spice head and I mentioned this.. So As to well as making my Soup nice and spicy, they gave me a bottle of hot Sauce to customise with. All in all friendly and welcoming highly recommend for the atmosphere alone!!!
I’ve been a tahi a few times now, but it’s not my fave place to go to in WW. The drinks are pretty pricey, but there is an interesting and wide range of them. Wines too have a good selection. Not sure about the food, haven’t tried any there. Seems popular on some nights and dead quiet on others. Cute place with a good atmosphere, quite relaxing.
The biggest problem I have with giving Tahi Bar 5 stars is that it might make it too popular. The caliber of this little spot, is that which you’d expect in any trendy city cafe worldwide, and yet here it is situated in beautiful rural Warkworth. The friendly staff/owners are truly knowledgeable in their wide range of boutique beers and wines. Wedged in an ally behind a corner block, it has two entrances and therefore it’s own offstreet alfresco area in front, plus a garden bar/dining out back. It offers a short tapas style menu and shares a kitchen with the next door Oceans Fish & Chip shop. I’ve dined here many times and my expectations have nearly always been surpassed. Will definitely go back.
