This is not a swanky restaurant but meals were tasy and LARGE and the bonus was that you could sit outside and watch the world go by. The Puhoi locals are the friendliest of people and you can find out so much about this Bohemian settlement from the people who just stop to chat. Nic and his staff couldn,t have been nicer.
Kumara chips, crabstick, scallop and potato fritter were good to share with friends. We took takeaway and ate at beach. Kumara chips was best out of all and scallop was beautifully coated with tempura.
Remembering seeing the oysters and chips sign on State Highway 1 as I came out of the tunnel this morning had me heading into Puhoi tonight for dinner. For $10 you get half a dozen oysters and a decent serving of chips. Very yummy and well cooked. The only downside was that oysters were small but the batter didnt ruin the flavour.
Got oysters and chips. Cooked quite well. Service was very average no greeting no thank you! They do not deserve customers with the attitude that was presented today.
