So glad theyre back – I was so disappointed when I turned up at Northcote one day and they had been replaced by a noodle place.Weve only ordered the sweet and sour pork to go so far since discovering that theyve set up shop in Rosedale. It was the exact same taste – their sweet and sour sauce has this black vinegary tang to it which is incomparable to the fish and chip shop Chinese takeaways. But the actual pork pieces were thinner, which meant it didnt necessarily feel like we were biting into proper meat pieces. So Im divided overall because o just love the flavour so much. And the price has gone up by a little bit, with the portions being about the same – perhaps location?Well definitely go back though, and try more of our old favourites next time.
Environment of this restaurant is very dirty, greasy on the table, don’t wash the vegetable, dish and mud or even bugs, I accidentally see chefs cooking and smoking, Im afraid of ash felling into the dishnext to the table of the guest eating sweet and sour pork said the meat is not fresh and spit it out and taste is very bad,, I really don’t recommend to the shop to have a mealbad mood
We went there for dinner yesterday and the food was delicious. My son loved crispy chicken and it became his favorite 🙂 The lady who served us was very cheerful and kind, recommending us what to try. We will definitely go back and try other dishes .
This restaurant became my favourite Chinese place from Albany area recently, the foods are authentic, flavourful at reasonable price.I have tried 1. Crispy pork with soya sauce, 2. beef brisket noodle (spicy version), pork mince noodle, and 3. steamed dumplings.1. Crispy pork with soya sauce is similar to sweet and sour pork but more northern Chinese style, which use glutinous rice flour in the batter. It is very crunchy and crispy at the same time kinda chewy and sticky taste which i think it is very authentic. This dish is my favourite one from this place, it is sad that they dont serve beer here to drink with this. 2. Beef brisket noodle with spicy and pork mince noodle were in the same soup base. It is spicy (ma la) and really tasty. I also ordered plain rice so I can eat rice with the soup. But beef brisket noodle was a bit different from other places as I thought it does not really have ma la flavour normally, but noodles are only $11.80 and great portion for the price.3. Dumplings were delicious, it was good to dip in noodle soup. But I only got given soy sauce, normally I would have all of soy sauce and vinegar and chilli sauce.Overall all foods are good price and generous portion, I would come back for trying other dishes!
I used to go to this restaurant in Northcote and I was happy to find this place open again. I saw that this place had quite an old style. I ordered the crispy chicken and the braised pork belly. The braised pork belly had the perfect fat to meat ratio. It was extremely flavourful and I couldn’t stop myself from eating it all. The crispy chicken wasn’t that crispy but it wasn’t too heavy. I will be back here to try the noodles.
Went there for the first time, did not expect too much, but come to a surprise that foods were very nice. It has a very Chinese feeling interior decoration which make eating experience better. Adding this to my eat out list.
Food is excellent, atmosphere is cold, overhead fluorescent lights too bright – it felt the cleaning crew could enter any minute, staff cool an distant,no advice given on what to choose to eat. A lot of Chinese writing on the walls, not easy for European diners to decipher.Make me feel welcome and explain more what you can offer to make my dining experience better please
