Have been here a couple of times now amd had to leave a review this time. This wee home cookery is in my opinion just superb. Their small quiches are insanely flavoursome the chicken and apricot I can personally recommend. The chicken and avocado rolls have a crunchy crust and fresh salad ingredients inside. The coffees here are amazing too, and letbus not foeget about the friendly and helpful staff you are greeted by. Just a lovely breif experience. All in all a 5/5 rating for a something quick to grab and head down to the water to enjoy.
Always really busy, this is a great patisserie with amazing dessert’s. We keep coming back to try all the different selections on offer and have yet to find something we haven’t liked.
I purchased mainly croissants, filled rolls and muffins from this bakery and all I can say is that everything was delicious. Staff are friendly and prompt to serve but due to having one cash register and a high volume of people, service is slow. Otherwise I would give 5 stars!
Popped in to grab a coffee and loved the sound of a chicken and Camembert pie. Pastry was lovely but the filling was terrible huge 2 chunks of chicken that couldn’t fit in my mouth and then the lack of the Camembert cheese in the pie not to mention the terrible frozen veges in the pie. I will stick to the pies from the bread winner bakery as they are top notch. My mocha was also in the cold side. There rolls look amazing and are well priced just a shame about the pie and coffee
Who doesn’t love freshly baked cakes? And this place is scrumptious. The lamingtons are light and fluffy. The pies are a treat. And at lunch time there is always a queue for the sandwiches and rolls.
Just a quick morning tea muffin. Blueberry muffin was fresh and a good size. Bakery has upped the ante and now does some fresh foods in volume. Previously only 50% were fresh the rest were long life bakery products. Good on them as the payback is obvious with a queue of patrons to the door.
Before this place changed hands (I think?) a few months ago, I wouldn’t have bought anything from there but now it’s one of my favourite food places in Auckland. The cakes are so delicious that I haven’t tried many of the equally gorgeous looking savouries – I can’t go past the chocolate cupcakes – but the few pies/sausage rolls I’ve had have been tasty too. Everything looks (and tastes) fresh, and I believe its all locally sourced. The prices make for fantastic value, I find myself there at least once a week. Couldn’t recommend more highly.
