Expensive, I hate nan and they just have nan. Biriyani is too oily, their Kerala fish curry which they serve wont get in Kerala. They pour oil in plain rice while cooking to to have a different feel in mouth, which is not good. Cool drinks are charged very high. They are literally asking us to pay their rent in st Lukes mall
My last review for Shamiana was 2.5/5!The rating is higher now because the curry is too dam addicting! The sushi shop around the corner isn’t very fresh, and other selections at the food court is sub par compared to this. Then you have maccas and kentucky which gets really really boring…Not authentic indian food, but authentic kiwi indian foodcourt curry. For $15 you get curryy, rice, nan and drink.MONIES WORTH!Service: 3/5Environment: 3/5Presentation: 2/5Food Quality: 4/5Food Quantity: 4/5Price PP: $15
Extremely bland, watered down butter chicken, and stale naan. Try a different flavour. Won’t get bitter chicken again for their price. Bye..
Not good at all.Never coming back again.Plain food ,no indian taste, racist mustache guy.no taste of real spices of india, pathetic service, looks like they dont love the job, they are forced to do it.no passion for food amongst staff!
Alright curry. Ordered the butter chicken since they just topped it up. Not the most flavourful but was ok. The pakora was also ok. A but dry but the sauce helped. Service wasn’t too bad.
Used to like this shamiana stall at st lukes as i always like their food, up until last weekend when my partner and i got a chicken tikka with 2 naan.. the sauce was Way too salty, i cough every time i take a bite. The extreme saltiness was not the worst part, both two pieces of chicken were burnt (black!!) and even the naan was burnt. I wasnt going to complain at first but that was 3 strikes already, they have to know im not happy with what i purchased. I went back to the counter and told 3 people – who i assumed owned shamiana and all they can say to me is its really how they make it in india, they really eat it like that- all black – burnt! I was appalled and told me ive ordered this dish several times and never did i complain, or else i wouldnt be coming back for it.. and they didnt even return my money, all they offered me was free yogurt to lessen the saltiness of the dish and just told me to check the chicken next time i order it.I dont know if the owners of this shamiana changed but i am not happy at all with the food and the worst part of it all my partner and i had sick tummys after we ate their chicken tikka! I am not recommending anyone to buy from them nor will i come back. I wont be coming back to tell them theyve made our tummies upset as im sure theyd just tell me thats how it is in india as well.
Every time I would say try something different!I never do I always end up eating butter chicken.PsMaybe now & then services with a smile would be nice
