Bought a bowl of Hot Chocolate here a couple days ago, I forgot how big the bowls were when ordering hot drinks. Ended up have a full tummy at the end of it, which was satisfying.The service here was superb, really kind and the making time was spot on as I expected.Going inside, the tables are on the side just like other cafes. So that there is enough space to simply walk through and order something.
I hardly ever come to this area but my sister works nearby and I went to meet her for lunch. I had the curry lamb pastry and she had the beef pie. I loved the curry lamb pastry and was served with a lovely side salad.It’s definitely a taste I will be craving. I will most likely return to try other items. Would love to try the creamy mushrooms. Service was excellent too.
College Hill Cafe is a little gem on the edge of Victoria park. I’ve been here quite a few times for the coffee – in the mornings during the AM rush, I’ve watched the staff memorise orders and greet customers by their name. It’s a remarkable thing to see. Great customer service is just a bonus, as their oat type cookies are out of this world. The cookies are crispy and chewy at the same time. They’re so good that I have to buy two at a time. The breakfast menu is also delicious. I’ve tried the creamy mushroom dish with chorizo before and I loved the flavours especially since chorizo is always a winner in my books!
Surprising little cafe tucked away on College Hill which I never noticed before, considering I drive past every day 🙂 Very unimposing entrance, but on entering there is the feel of a calm oasis and a well stocked wall size food cabinet with tasty looking homemade dishes, including salads, all at reasonable prices. We sat and ate, the staff were friendly and overall I got the impression that it was well liked by local office workers and I would be happy to visit again!
I’ve been a regular here for a while, but after the way they handled a bad lunch recently I don’t think I’ll go back… pity, the food and service was usually pretty good. Just not good enough to make up for the rude treatment I got over something they could have fixed easily… Handling of complaints: 2/5Food: 4/5Service: 4/5Atmosphere: 3/5
