Kept riding past Wild Grain bakery award winning pies. Checked it out on the web again award winning pies. So I just had to stop in and try one. Unfortunately very very disappointed, I could not bring myself to even eat half of the pie. I ordered the cheese and mince, the dough was still raw. The filling was this tasteless resemblance of mince with a slight vision of cheese. They should really stop with that marketing!
Driving up north to visit Shakespeare park, as expected when on long drives I got a little hungry so wanted something quick and wholesome. Driving past the mall I caught multiple displays of award winning bakery and as such I sought out said bakery.Considering the cabinet there were two award winning recipes, the Chicken & Camembert and the Steak and Cheese. I opted for the Steak and Cheese, Im big believer in classics and that if you can nail a classic then you are probably on point with everything else. Unfortunately the steak and cheese I had was barely average. What prevented the pie from being straight awful is that there is a healthy amount of steak. The sauce was poor and there was literally no cheese. For an award winning pie I was disappointed. The advertising was great but the delivery left me wanting way more. Will not come back again. Showstopper: Not applicable? Nice marketing.Overall Grade: C+
Was recommended this bakery by a local as one of the better places to grab a coffee. It’s in the relatively new area of Silverdale and is a clean & tidy shop.Lots of fresh bakery items made on site.Coffee was very well made – not bitter or burnt. No sugar needed.Service was really friendly & efficient – so great to see. Will be back when I’m next in the area.
Great bakery. This was our second choice today as the French bakery had ran out of food and as this one was across the road we decided to buy lunch from here. We have been a couple of times before and the food was good then as well. Pretty much your typical bakery food but it all was done well and was very fresh and also had a good selection. I wouldn’t drive overly out of my way to come but if passing this is definitely a good bakery option.
Best bakery on the North Shore! Their ginger slices are out of this world and you can’t beat their freshly baked breads. Everything is made with only the best ingredients and I have never been disappointed by any of their offerings. Best get in early as they sell out fast!
