Big fan of their Cantonese styled dishes. It’s a low frill restaurant but food was top notch. Dishes were cooked over a big flame. We’d be back to try more!
Awesome little place we visited on a little exploration down Gooch. Lovely staff. $1.50 corkage where can you go wrong!? Ordered two seafood mains and the deep fried buns with condensed milk dipping sauce. All was to die for and enormous servings!! Suggested to all my friends who have loved it as well. Will definitely be back!!
Came here on a Thursday for dinner at around 5.30 and it got busy really quickly. The restaurant is small with just few tables, so I would recommend to book a table in advance. Food are great portion and affordable.
They over charged us ! We ordered a pan fry on the menu. When we pay the bill the price is much higher than what we expected! The waiter said what we had is not on the menu is something different. I dont even get it!
Have visited this place quite a few times with family and the quality of the food is very consistent. It is a small, bustling Cantonese cuisine restaurant, who also do takeaways. Ive visited here during both lunch and dinner services and they are always busy, but service is always quick! Never too long of a wait between ordering and service. My favourites would be the salt and pepper pork chop and their clay pot rice dishes are a must try! So many good combinations. Have had their steamed fish also and it was lovely. Good selection of seasonal vegetables (you can ask the waiter/waitress for what they have). Generous portions and their dishes are always fresh, well-balanced in flavour (not overly salty and no msg to my knowledge). Would recommend you to give it a go if youre in the area and dining with a larger group!
Ordered dishes with plain white rice – sizzling ginger onion beef, braised pork belly with taro and spicy salt pepper fish fillets.Best dish was the sizzling beef – beef was very tender and flavorful without too much sauce or heavy seasoning covering the natural flavor of ingredients.Braised pork belly dish was well flavored with fermented bean curd, taro was soft and flavorful; however the lean part of pork belly was not tender enough.Seasoning is too salty for this very light texture fish fillets; firmer fish fillets may work better with the seasoning. The worst was the plain white rice – dry and clumpy – didn’t expect such poor quality rice especially when we need to pay for the rice; as the rice was not complimentary with the dishes we ordered. Not sure whether we will return again for their rice dishes, may come back to try their noodle dishes though.
A great place for fast cheap Cantonese style Chinese food. Very generous servings and food tastes pretty good. Its becoming my favourite local place to dine when Im too lazy to cook and want something fast and delicious. Mussel congee is the best here. Also love their chicken clay pot rice and crispy noodles with shredded pork and mushrooms.
