This is my go to Shanghai restaurant in East Auckland. Ive been dining here many times. I particularly like their smoke fish, deep fried prawns in salted egg yolk, Chinese style stir fry beef and clay pot Wonton chicken soup. However, I must admit their service is pretty average in general. Both the owner and the waitress have neutral face expression which makes you think theyre a bit grumpy which is a shame. Otherwise the food is nice and good value for money.
service is bad, environment is bad, food is only ok, everything is bad coz of the poor quality of their restaurant owner and waitress. we didn’t do anything but they just look like we owe them thousands dollars. if u don’t want to operate the restaurant , u don’t have to but don’t need to give us your shit face!
The food is good but the service awful. We were greeted by two long faces (one is waitress and the other behind counter). Asked politely in Cantonese where we could be seated and they just stared at us, didn’t even blink. Asked again in English, same thing. Thought they were decorations and looked around for real humans to request for seatings. Showed one of them two fingers and she just pointed at a table and continued staring blankly. Surprisingly, later when a Caucasian came in and spoke in English they fully understood. So we had three delicious dishes but I cannot describe the food because I am now as tongue-tied as the staff were. Sorry but you have to improve, learn to communicate properly, and learn to smile.
Food is very nice – I love their xiao long baos. Staff could be a bit friendlier. This restaurant is quite popular so it can be very busy at times so you might not get a table.
Love their dishes, it’s not easy to find Asian restaurant that don’t over season their dishes! They are usually busy at dinner time and during the weekend, booking is recommended. As in regards to service, I never had a problem with their service. Our favorite dishes are the lamb and the sweet n sour fish! Chicken soup with wonton is nice too!
My husband’s favourite Asian restaurant. No exactly cheap, but the have good lunch deals. Amazing food & friendly service. Especially regiment their buns, ma po tofu, and sweet vinegar pork ribs.
