So happy Gulf Takeaways is my local chippie shop! Food is fresh and tasty, never oily. Really enjoy the Hawaiian and fish burgers and large spring rolls. Very generous chips portions, we’ve learned to buy less and less over the years so that we can try different things on their large menu. Shop is always clean and tidy, owners are very friendly and we often have a nice chat when we go in.
Really nice fish and chips. Good quality batter is used and the chips are the best weve had in ages. Wontons are yummy and they do really good potato cakes too. Nice and thick and even. We normally go to Oceanz in Albany but this shop far exceeds them in quality. Very friendly service and nice clean shop. Recommend!
Went here because our local was randomly closed- was not disappointed. Clean, tidy takeaway – got waay more chips than expected but it was delicious and crunchy so it all got eaten anyway:)
Have like the food here before so went out of way to go again. Husband ordered fish, pineapple fritter and chicken burger with nothing else on it (it was all written down). They clarified that he did not want salad or sauce on the burger and he said yes but they mention the cheese which they left on (so son had to scrap it all off. Instead of the pineapple fritter and the fish we got 1 potato fritter. That was never order and we never order them. I phoned and instead of saying sorry we will fix it for you they said that is what he ordered. BAD customer service. And the potato fritter is awful and I wanted a fish.Never go there – they dont listen to what the customer wants and cant admit they are wrong.
First things first, their takeaway shop is always clean and tidy. They have the best crispy won tons ive ever tasted. The flavour inside is amazing and not overpowering and not oily like some others either – Spot On. Their got chips are really really good too! Reccomend this place for sure.

Unfortunately we’ve changed our rating from 5 to a 1 , sept 2018This is what it used to be like, but not any more ( the only thing that’s still good are the fresh lettuce): They serve Very good hamburgers here, lettuce, tomatoes, carrots all are nice, fresh and crisp, (plus you get beetroots as well 🙂 ). The patties are homemade, they are juicy and taste good. The Fish and Chips are also good, fish a little bit on the dry side but, the taste is excellent. Good value for money.NOW, most things are greasy and doesn’t smell fresh any more, Sad!
