Forget the complete lack of decor, this has to be one of the top 3 fush and chups stores in Auckland. Crispy batter and plenty of salt on the chips.
This place is about 5 mins drive down the road, so we visit it every now and then. The place could probably use an upgrade. It’s a bit outdated looking. The menu has the usual items expected and the price I think is good for your local chippie and burger joint. For $15 we feed two people which consisted of: American Hotdog, Cheeseburger, Chips and a chocolate shake. Since it is so close we will be back.
Agree with everyone else they need to cook their chips better and crispier and the place needs a drastic clean up but their chicken burgers are really good make with real shredded roast chicken.
3rd time visiting here and the chips are still under cooked even with instruction to make them crispy. Sorry but we wont be back. Would be great to get someone local to provide this service. I hear the pizza place by challenge is good so will try next time
I’m local to this takeaway and it’s rubbish, chips way undercooked and not much for 4 dollars. Considering it’s just a burger bar it fails miserably. It’s also very dirty !!! Try the pizza place down next to the Challenge, not cheap but very tasty 🙂 Swanson Takeaways could do with a genuine Chinese takeaway with sweet and sour range etc etc. I won’t be going back to Swanson Takeaways.
Very disappointing.The corn fritters were basically flour fried in batter; there were about 3 corn kernels in mine. The chips were way undercooked, and we got about 1 scoop for $5.When I used to live in Swanson this takeaway shop was really good; the corn fritters were full of corn and really crunchy, and the chips used to be cooked to perfection and you got a lot for your money. Really disappointed and probably won’t go there again.
