Hawker & Roll is so damn good. I recently went here with my mum and I honestly can’t wait to go back and try more things that are on the menu. My mum and I both got the Malaysian Chicken Laksa Hawker roll which costs $14. It was super tasty and full of a tangy flavour, was a perfect size and was so fresh. The staff weren’t that welcoming at all but the service was super quick so it kinda makes up for their straight faces. I can’t wait to go back here again it’s just so damn good, for sure give it a try! x
Dumplings are good here! Tried a few things off their menu which was nice. Im obsessed with dumplings so Im on a mission to find the best ones in Auckland , this one is pretty close!
The portions here are pretty decent and the meals did the job – I ordered a salad, the eggplant roll but with lettuce instead of roti and a banana roti. I do feel the meals were overpriced for what we received – the bowl of coleslaw was like a $5 pack from Pak N Save without the ranch dressing which was $10 and the eggplant lettuce roll wasnt a roll at all but just pieces of lettuce and the most minimum amount of eggplant for $14. My highlight was definitely the banana roti and I do appreciate how the company veganized it for me by not serving it with condensed milk. I think I would come back here to try some different dishes.
First time I tried their laksa in early November, I was pleasantly surprised – it was creamy, hot and had decent chunks of chicken in it. I tried it again mid December and it was a full 180. I ordered a laksa to dine in this time and 2 minutes after sitting down, I received my laksa. It was luke warm – still had a few decent sized chunks of chicken but extremely underwhelming, as if its pre made and sitting around waiting to be ordered.Service was nice and prompt. nynb.blogspot.com
Quite a nice place but food menu is very basic and limited. We ordered a beef Rendang roll each and Vietnamese Coffee. The roll was presented and served on an oval basket similar to Vietnamese presentation for Banh Mi. It was pretty weird really, as this is a Malaysian dish and it was hard to eat as finger food without making a mess. Would be better presented on a plate so one could use fork and knife. Just an ok place for quick eat. littleborneogirl.wordpress.com
Forgot to take a photo of the duck and hoisin hawker roll before eating it because had to get straight in there delicious food. Very quick service and $1 Vietnamese coffee everyday between 10:00am – 11:00am! Best coffee in the world so very exciting to see it in a restaurant. Only slight comment would be more hoisin sauce in the roll because live for this stuff.
