The place earns my only 5.0 among all my reviews so far. The reason is simple: friendly staff, excellent coffee with three choices. If you don’t know how to choose the coffee beans on the day, read the descriptions of their flavors, acidity, after taste, etc. The descriptions are usually spot-on. Their barista will make the coffee to your liking, including hotness, milkiness and strengths. They are happy to rectify any mistake (on one occasion, my coffee was not hot enough and they were happy to make a free one for me.) To summarize, this is the best coffee place in Takapuna.
The coffee here is second to none! I absolutely love how smooth they steam the milk, even the soy. I usually take my coffee away, on my way to work, so I hadn’t dined in until fairly recently. I did come in for a coffee there with a friends recently, and it wasn’t so great. The seats are high stools which don’t invite you to linger at all, and the music from the shop area made conversation less than ideal. I will continue to pop in for a takeaway but when I’m there for a chat with a friend I’ll choose another location.
