FIVE STARS!!! My husband and I went to Hapunan last Friday at the Mt Albert Markets. We had the Adobo Del Diablo, Beef Pares and Ube ice cream. Everything was sooo good! The chicken in the Adobo had the right amount of spice and full of flavour. My husband loved the dressing in the slaw too! The beef was amazing and very tender. The Ube ice cream was delicious! Better than what I’ve had back home in the Philippines. We will be back for sure!

I was so excited to try these guys out that I bought everything on the menu. And I would do it again! Highly recommend trying them out if youre into South East Asian flavours. The chicken adobo is more of a coconut curry (Bicol express style) than the typical soy based adobo, different and scrumptious. My favourite was the beef pares.Follow them on Instagram to find out where they are each week.
AMAZING FOOD!!! I wish there were more choices but the quality of the food is really good!!! We tried the Beef Pares, Siomai & Pata tim, all were superb!!! The owners were lovely too!!
The best beef pares Ive tasted in NZ. I love that they incorporated noodles instead of rice. At first I was hesitant to try but when I had my first bite, I was surprised that it actually made sense. I like the idea of pickled veggies, it adds flavour to the dishes. And the ube ice cream was superb! Great job!
I wish i read the description. As a Filipino, i already know what adobo is so i just ordered it right away. Tried hapunan for the 1st time in mt Albert market last Friday night, i didn’t know that their adobo was not the traditional one. It was yum but definitely doesn’t taste like adobo. It should be called chicken curry and not adobo. I was really disappointed as i was looking forward to the soy vinegar taste
