I only came in for a take out coffee, but got tempted into buying a gluten free biscotti (scoffed it before I could take a photo-sorry!). LolSoooo good, by the way! The place was buzzing and the cabinet food which I had a nosy of while waiting for my coffee looked delicious. My coffee was spot on.Looking forward to returning & having a sit down feed next time.
The best coffee Ive had in a long time! Beautiful sitting in the sun at an outside table. Scrummy gluten free almond cookie on the side. Friendly staff too
The Hardware Cafe was an institution in Titirangi. Owned by the same people for 25 years the food was delicious and inexpensive. Thomas the Barista made the ambience and the staff were friendly and helpful.Much to our dismay it was sold. We gave it a try. Thomas wasn’t there and the new owners had priced themselves out of the market.Months later, after horrific storm and power out, decided to give them another go. Yay! Thomas is back. .Girl behind counter couldn’t be bothered cracking a smile or saying hello. Acted like she was doing me a favor. Always a bit mistake with me, I’m contributing to her wages and I expect better service that that.’Cabinet prices seemed better. Decided to give it a go. Chose a chicken wrap. What a disaster, dry, tough, boring chicken (Hardware had always been known for their flavors). Asked for some chutney which used to come with the cabinet choices plus a small serve of salad. Ten minutes later I was still waiting after having asked two of the staff (who appear to be the owner’s daughters) for the chutney. The second one is very friendly and nice but if she can’t follow through on service. Forget it. Finally had to ask a middle aged lady who had been with the former owners and it appeared in a flash. They need to sack the cook and smarten up their act. Lift their game if they want to survive. I’m definitely not going back. Too many other good cafes in the vicinity to put up with that.
Buzzing and busy, great services and delicious food. A nice local cafe in the beautiful Titirangi. As a customer, I enjoyed to be treated like a family friend and be looked after so well. A lovely place to hangout with friends : )
