I had to try the seafood chowder as I had heard about the great reviews.. unfortunatelyi was disappointed as it was more of a stew dark in colour with minimal seafood. I was expecting more of a rich creamy colored seafood chowder. Price wise was not worth $7 other than that customer service was good and friendly.
The food is amazing but the opening times are loose. Not good when you are on a lunch break and the shop is 25minutes late opening. I gave up especially after I had given my work mates a glowing report about them. This lateness was a major turn off for those of us working people who rely on times
Mmmm .. I’ve been watching their reviews on Social Media for awhile but never found the time to get there, until the weekend just past. Upon walking in, you get a great big smile and a dipstick of their salmon pate while you’re standing there deciding what you want. I was after the chowder but I couldn’t help but want more once I was in the door. I controlled myself and went for the chowder and bagel ‘combo’ and the pate. I got me two chowders because the cups looked small and I felt like I needed more. BUT, it is rich and thick so you really don’t need more than is given. It is delish! A must for seafood, and more especially salmon lovers. Totally agree with a previous review that says it’s an awesome breakfast. My only downer is that it’s not open enough, but I can understand that being a specialist shop which is why I didn’t bring down the score for it. Totally hidden gem, I’ve lived in West Auckland all my life and live just up the road and have only discovered it. If you’re in the mood for smoked fish or a satisfying chowder head here!!
Best smoked best in west Auckland, you have to pop in here if your in the area ! Cheap cheese salmon bagel for $7 and family size pack for $20. Awesome breakfast for when you’ve got family around
I love their salmon chowder! It goes really well with the bagel, definitely Glendene’s best kept secret!I’ve yet to try their salad but sounds really good. The idea of smoked salmon tail is brilliant makes it easy to eat on the go!
Best smoked fish I’ve ever tasted in my life I’ve tried every flavour and I can’t choose a favourite because they’re all so good, still have to try out the bagel and chowder. Raw fish salad is delicious as well definitely recommend this place to every one
