Reading some of the other comments I’m a little embarrassed for this cute little cafe! I found the staff really pleasant and enjoyable to be served by and have always enjoyed the meals that I have when I go there! My only recommendation would be to drop the prices a little as they are on the high side and I would expect to pay that price in Ponsonby or the viaduct
Average cabinet food. But not terrible.
Really friendly waiting staff but shame on the so called chef, the barista and the owner. They dare to charge $18.50 for Eggs Benedict, just like an upmarket cafe but fail to make their own Hollandaise sauce. It looked like something you get from the supermarket. The tiny serving of spinach was a bit of a joke. The flat white that I ordered was well below par. As for the premises, there’s no ambiance whatsoever. Wobbly lopsided tables don’t really help. Don’t think I will ever be seen there again.
My husband and I had Saturday brunch here two weeks ago. The food looked great and tasted good. The coffee was ok but nothing special. The woman who served us was distracted and actually quite rude. We live close by and come here often during the week but will not return until Saturday lady – Glen? Is no longer working. This is the second time we have been insulted by her. I suggest staff training.
Just had a big breakfast at Lombardis whenuapai, it was great, will be back. Service was great, coffee was great too.
Looking forward to a nice lunch out and have always enjoyed Lombardis BLT, but on this occasion both of us thought the food was very disappointing. My BLT was nothing like I have truly enjoyed in the past…cabbage lick salad, no mayo and a tomato relish on the bread, which was dry. Husband had corn fritters, flat and tasteless. Coffee as hot chocolate was usual high standard. We won’t be back unless we hear there has been a big improvement. The price was steep, the food quality was poor.
I always come in with my parents, and always order the garlic herb hash – it has to be the best thing on the menu! The cakes in the cabinet always look absolutely beautiful, not that I ever have any room to eat anything more, and the waitresses are lovely, and are always up for a chat with mum and I.
