The staff and ambience are warm and welcoming. We had some house wines, cocktails and bar snacks, they were all excellent. Not much to say as I do like everything here, it’s one of my favourite spots.
Have been here a few times as a hotel guest. Never visited as an external customer; however, it is popular with city workers on a Friday evening 🙂 Beautiful bar area, exactly the right spot to spend a couple of hours with a very nice wine menu. Staff are very approachable. The only glitch is they don’t seem to have a coffee machine. Barista coffee had to be delivered from the hotel’s caf next door which took a bit longer than expected.
Great little bar on the ground floor of the Sofitel hotel. They serve a good range of wine, other beverages & bar food.We ordered the hand cut chips which came with a thick aioli (similar to ‘yum yum mayo’) – they were really good. The Cocktails were okay. Other drinks were well prepared & the wine list was varied. My lower rating is really due to the service – while all staff were friendly, things were painfully (!!) slow. The staff indicated that their POS system was clunky & old, however waiting 15 mins approx for a wine to be delivered when they weren’t busy was strange. It became a bit of a laugh with our group, but is actually a shame as other bars in the area do better. Hopefully they can sort this as it is a great spot otherwise
Lovely hotel bar situated in the viaduct sofitel. Nice fit out and high level of service. We had a nice round booth with chandelier above, nicest spot in the place. We had a few drinks and a couple of bites to eat. I like the foreign practice of a complimentary snack served with your drinks, selection of nuts in this case. Drinks and food were pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. Strawberry daiquiri was great. Fish and chips nice and crispy, parmesan croquettes a little bland. Would definetly go if staying in the hotel again but prob wouldn’t go out of my way if I wasn’t in the area
Beautiful bar, I’m in love with the decor. Sofitel really knows how to pack wow factor in presentation.Compliments to Corentian our bar man for the night, I didn’t know what a wanted and asked to be surprised. He asked appropriate questions and I ended up with a delicious cocktail, a classic cosmopolitan. We also ordered a mojito. He put of a show sparkling up my cocktail (literally) by lighting several orange peels over my drink. Very pleased with the drinks as well as the customer service! Highly recommend and I will be back for more!
Nice and fancy! Came here for a drink with friends. We had some cocktails and sat by the fireplace. Really nice ambience and very private too. The bartender was very attentive and looked after us very well. Thank you.
