This cafe is said to be allergen friendly yet I was disappointed with my $8.5 smoothie. This allergen friendly Cafe didn’t have dairy free icecream AND charged an extra $1 for soy milk. I would’ve been happy to pay the extra if there was at least a dairy free icecream. Really all I had was a cup of soy milk with ice and flavouring syrup as it says smoothie but is actually a milkshake.
If you want the menu that’s on zomato, dont go here. If you want a menu to sit and read don’t go here. Had to take a photo of the menu to be able to sit and go through since it wasnt what was advertised online. Cupboard food was lacklustre and old, with a weird combination of options on the menu and a lot of stuff they didn’t actually have. Staff however were quite friendly and made good coffee.
Returning a year later we’re dropped the score heaps. Was a 5 but now 3.5. The smashed avocado with others was more like toast with some avocado. Given it’s the season for avocados it was a bit disappointing. Biggest failing for me was the coffee. The almond milk was over heated both times and turned it into almond curd. I. Their defense the remade it with coconut mills as the almond wasn’t working and I think it’s the fault of almond breeze milk not the barrister this time It’s so good to find a cafe with allergy options that aren’t boring. Really nice salmon plate for me. And having come here the day before for coffee, they pretty much had my coffee order waiting and ready to go. My only complaint is someone bought the last ginger crunch I was looking forward to 🙁 edit!!!!They just moved it. 5 star
Quite a clinical feeling when you first walk in with the bare floor and printed menu, but keep walking in!Staff are friendly, and seems family owned. The staff at the front of house are super casual and seemed a bit disjointed at times. Layout was okay maybe a bit plain and boring for Rotorua, but with a lovely counter full of fresh cakes and scones. Coffee was delicious, and very easy to drink! (Rotorua has really impressed us with their coffee). I got the Paleo muesli which was absolutely phenomenal, the muesli was brilliant (I think they should sell muesli packaged up). My other half got the Salmon Board which if you can see the picture was phenomenal also, the spelt bread was delicious.
Brilliant cafe! Was amazed at just how many items on the menu were gluten free! The sizes of the slices were MASSIVE. We couldn’t eat even half of it so had to takeaway – which is great.A definite MUST when in Rotorua.
Went here for a late lunch. Relatively new cafe on the block. Lovely and somewhat funky place. Well decked out.Food range was fantastic. Nice cabinet food choices. Girl behind till needed to smile a bit more and engage with the customer! Big stack of lovely muffins by the till were uncovered, and near mouth level of those ordering! Unhygienic, as spit leaves people’s mouths when talking! They wouldn’t be the first cafe to fail here. Food was fantastic and well presented. Staff member who bought it out much more pleasant. Our lunches did not arrive at the same time though! Kids working in the kitchen should remember they can be heard from the tables!!Overall a cafe well worth visiting, and would rate a 5 if they tidied a few things up.
Very cute vibe, massive slices and muffins. Extremely tasty gluten free food. Good signage for allergies. Coffee not too bad, service could use spicing up a bit. Free WiFi, overall nice experience here.
