Phoned to ask and discovered they don’t do yum cha any longer 🙁 you can still go in and order food or takeaway apparently. I decided not to go but staff sounded nice over the phone.

The experience here was absolutely terrible. I rang to make a booking tonight at 7:20pm 29 November 2013 for myself, my sister and my son and was told they were fully booked. I ordered takeaway and was told when to pick it up being: 7:50pm. I arrived on time to find only 1 table being used and the rest of the 20 odd tables were bereft of any patrons. Upon inquiry I was advised they had a tour group booking. But there was only one table being used. Even my son was shocked from what we were advised on the phone to the reality of the situation. Certainly felt like discrimination to us and on top of that the takeaways ordered arrived 15 minutes late despite being told what time time to pick them up. We certainly will not be returning if that is how one is treated at this restaurant.

This place is absolutely brilliant! Yum Cha has finally hit Rotorua! The tasty little morsels of food have me constantly thinking about Yum Cha! The place has been open for two weeks, and I have been twice, and going again today for lunch. The food here is easily comparable to other favourite Yum Cha in Auckland. The building has just been completely refurbished, and the atmosphere is light and friendly. The staff are very welcoming, and happy to explain dishes, and educate. I am just so excited and happy that Rotorua now has it own good quality Yum Cha 7 days a week!
